If you wish to import and commercialize personal hygiene cosmetics, it is compulsory to obtain a sanitary registration at the Directorate of Pharmacies and Drugs of the Ministry of Health as a previous step to its importation and commercialization in Panama.
The requirements to obtain a Sanitary Registration of Cosmetics are set forth by Executive Decree 13 of March 1, 2023, which regulates Law 1 of January 10, 2001, on Medicines and other products for Human Health.
Amongst some of the requirements we can mention, the Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) and Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices of the Laboratory that must be issued by the sanitary authority of the country where the manufacturing laboratory is located and filed in original or authenticated copy.
It is strictly necessary as part of the process to have the endorsement of a qualified pharmacist and the National Bar of Pharmacists, as well as the rest of the documents that will be necessary to obtain your registration.
The Sanitary Registration for Cosmetics is valid for 10 years.
