Trademark Renewal

The registration of a trademark has a term of 10 years. The renewal of a trademark registration must be filed within the period between the year immediately preceding and six months following the registration expiration date. Once this term is due without the renewal having been requested, the registration shall be deemed expired.

To apply for the renewal of your trademark you must send us scanned copies of the following documents:

  • Special Power of Attorney granted to our law firm

  • Information of the trademark applicant: name, address, telephone number and e-mail address

  • Images of the trademark or its logo
  • Class or Classes in which it will be registered

  • If a priority right has been claimed, file the corresponding copy of the priority application, with its translation in case it is not in the Spanish language, being such document exempted from any notarial or consular authentication

  • Declaration of use or intention to use the trademark

If the registration of your trademark is about to expire, we recommend applying for its renewal, thus avoiding your competitors from taking advantage of this opportunity.
