How do i obtain my residency in one month in Panama?
To attract foreign investment and at the same time contribute to national development, the Government of Panama created through Executive Decree 722 of October 15, 2020, amended by Executive Decree 109 of October 13, 2022, and the recently enacted Executive Decree 193 of October 15, 2024, a permanent residence permit in one (1) month as a qualified investor.
Permanent Residence may be obtained with a minimum investment of US$300,000 from a foreign source, either personally or through a legal entity, in which the applicant is always the final beneficiary of the company’s shares.
This program allows the immigrant the option to invest in any of the following forms:
- Through real estate investment in Panama
- Through real estate investment employing a contract of the promise of sale of real estate
- Through investment made through a brokerage firm in Panama
- Through investment in a fixed-term deposit in a bank
What are the advantages of the permanent resident permit as a qualified investor?
- The application for the permit can be carry out through our law firm before the entry of the applicant and his or her dependents to Panama, as long as the process of affiliation in the Registry of Foreigners of the National Immigration Service is fulfilled
- The permit request is resolved in thirty (30) working days from the date of its presentation
- The process is expeditious in comparison to other immigration programs in Panama. Unlike other immigration categories, it is done directly at the General Directorate for the Promotion of Investments of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, where a branch office of the National Immigration Service was enabled for this specific permit.
- It grants permanent residence immediately, meaning in one (1) month
- Allows the change of migratory category to those who have initiated applications for provisional permits of permanence as their economic solvency
- The minimum amount on real estate investment required will be US$300,000
