Fertilizer Registration

In this practice area we advise and assist our clients on the import permits and registration of all types of fertilizers, chemical pesticides, additives, and phytosanitary products at the Ministry of Agricultural Development in Panama.

For the registration to be approved, the applicant must comply with all the technical and commercial requirements described in the regulations in force.

Based on the above, such applications for registration must be filed at the Plant Health Department of the Ministry of Agricultural Development of the Republic of Panama, complying with the following requirements:

• Special Power of Attorney in favor of the Phytosanitary Technical Advisor and the person registering the product before the competent authority duly authenticated by Notary
  
  
• Certificate of Registration or Free Sale (CFS) in original from the country of origin, duly authenticated or apostilled
  
  
• Certificate of Composition for each product and its active components
  
  
• Certificate of analysis indicating the concentrations of the fertilizer by macro and micronutrients in w/w if it is solid or w/v if it is liquid. In original and signed
  
  
• Certificate of analysis of the product
  
  
• Two (2) labels of the product to be registered
  
  
• Technical data sheet of each product to be registered
  
  
• Product pamphlets for each product to be registered
  
  

The Fertilizer Registration is valid for a period of ten (10) years.

The estimated time frame to obtain such registration may vary between 2 to 3 months
